CBS.com Webcast Of The 48th Annual Miss Universe Pageant Swimsuit Competition Marks First Official Webcast Of A Pageant Event.TRINIDAD & TOBAGO--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--May 18, 1999-- For the first time ever, the MISS UNIVERSE(R) swimsuit competition, featuring all 85 women from around the globe, will be webcast on cbs.com on May 25, the day before the live telecast of the 48th ANNUAL MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT(R) on the CBS Television Network CBS Television Network Major U.S. broadcasting company and network. It began in 1928 as the Columbia Broadcasting System, a small radio network directed by William S. Paley. (May 26, at 9:00-11:00 PM live ET/delayed PT). Internet users will be able to view the never been seen before forty-minute webcast several times throughout the day, May 25th, on cbs.com. Also for the first time, Miss Photogenic photogenic /pho·to·gen·ic/ (-jen´ik) 1. produced by light, as photogenic epilepsy. 2. producing or emitting light. pho·to·gen·ic adj. 1. will be selected by Internet voters along with official Pageant judges by logging onto cbs.com and missuniverse.com and voting for their favorite delegate. The interactive site will include a photo gallery and will showcase all 85 MISS UNIVERSE(R) delegates through photos and delegate profiles. The voting for Miss Photogenic will conclude on May 20th and the winner will be announced during the live broadcast on May 26th. The swimsuit competition is an integral component of the pre-telecast process during which a select team of judges choose the top ten delegates, which will then be announced during the live primetime telecast on May 26th.
