Richard K. Selvage, IBM's general manager of media and entertainment, and Maguire are scheduled to meet today in an attempt to resolve the financial dispute, said Peggy Moretti, spokeswoman for the developer. ``IBM has expressed interest in coming to Playa Vista, and we will do all that we can to ensure their participation in the project,'' she said. IBM was hired in December 1995 to be the technology consultant for the 1,087-acre project near Playa del Rey. Plans include a film studio, offices, hotels, retail, health-care and civic facilities. Los Angeles city officials subsequently pledged about $70 million in incentives to attract the studio as anchor for the development. Moretti said the developer is conducting a global search for funds and the company hopes to have the matter resolved in 60 days. |
