as part of a two-part series on the changing funeral industry. The story, developed by CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  Newspath*, began airing that evening on CBS affiliates around the country - setting off several frantic days at the Eternal Image office as company representatives handled inquiries by distributors, funeral homes and individuals that were generated by the piece.

"We came to the office Monday morning and the voicemail was full," said Clint Mytych, president of Eternal Image. "The interest in and acceptance of the news piece really shows how ready people are for more choice in funeral products. They want creative control of the process so that their own funeral or those of loved ones can really represent their passions in life."

As of Thursday at close of business, the company had more than 100 calls and emails. Many people asked to be placed on waiting lists for products that will become available later this quarter and during the summer.

To date, the piece has run in more than 40 markets as diverse as Los Angeles, Terre Haute (IN), Cleveland, Anchorage, Kansas City (MO), Rochester (NY), Greenville-Spartansburg (NC), Hartford-New Haven (CT), Tulsa (OK), Salt Lake City and dozens more. It continues to run at stations around the country.
