CBS MarketWatch Hires Financial News Veteran Herb Greenberg as Senior Columnist.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2004

MarketWatch.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:MKTW), a leading multimedia publisher of business news and provider of financial information and analytical tools, announced today that it has hired veteran financial journalist Herb Greenberg as a senior columnist for its award-winning business news service, CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  MarketWatch.

Greenberg, 51, joins CBS MarketWatch after six years as a featured columnist for TheStreet.com. Before that, he spent a decade writing a daily column for The San Francisco Chronicle The San Francisco Chronicle was founded in 1865 as The Daily Dramatic Chronicle by teenage brothers Charles de Young and Michael H. de Young.[2] The paper grew along with San Francisco to become the largest circulation newspaper on the West Coast of the , where he became known for his aggressive reporting and ability to spot problems at companies long before the regulators did. Greenberg was early in pointing out trouble at such companies as EDS (Electronic Data Systems, Plano, TX, www.eds.com) Founded in 1962 by H. Ross Perot (independent candidate for the President of the U.S. in 1992), EDS is the largest outsourcing and data processing services organization in the country. , Tyco, Planet Hollywood, WorldCom, and Network Solutions over the last several years. Greenberg, who will start on April 12, will bring his reporting and writing talents to CBS MarketWatch in the form of a free column for the Web site, as well as regular appearances on the MarketWatch.com Radio Network and CBS MarketWatch Weekend television show.
