CBRE report card: green building making the grade.


A new report issued by CB Richard Ellis CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. NYSE: CBG is a multinational real estate corporation currently based in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.. On December 20, 2006, the corporation, also known as CBRE, completed acquisition of Trammell Crow Co. in a transaction valued at $2. , outlines the progress that has been made in implementing green building practices in the construction and development of new office buildings. The report, "Green Downtown Office Markets: A Future Reality," was released at CB Richard Ellis' 2007 World Conference. The conference theme, "Toward a Greener Tomorrow," reflects its significant focus on green business practices and environmental sustainability.

The report discusses the growing number of LEED[R] (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. )-certified office buildings; the benefits of developing and owning a green property; and government legislation regarding green building codes and incentives, among other topics.

CBRE's World Conference in Toronto, Canada, was hosted outside of the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  for the first time in the event's history.
