This latest award for CBRE's Long Island office is the second time in as many months that the firm was honored for its work on Long Island. The CBRE Long Island team of Philip Heilpern, Richard Karson, Martin Lomazow and David Zelinski, together with Dan Knopf, Lewis Miller, Kevin Powderly, Thomas Shirocky and Stephen Siegel from CBRE's Midtown office, were the team members honored. The team negotiated the creative lease transaction that consolidated the County's Department of Health & Human Services (HHS HHS Department of Health and Human Services. ) at 60 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard. CBRE was able to identify the ideal site for the HHS and structured the complex deal in just three months. In addition, CBRE was recognized in the "Developer of the Year" award presented to Spiegel Associates in connection with a 94,000-square-foot, build-to-suit lease at 585 Johnson Avenue in Bohemia. Mr. Heilpern, Mr. Karson and Mr. Lomazow arranged the lease transaction on behalf of the tenant, EDO Corporation. The Manhattan-based defense contractor will utilize the R&D and flex office space at the property as its regional hub.
