The capital is Hyderabad. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and four others crashed, killing all the occupants. The team did an extensive inspection of the site and the parts of the crashed Bell-430 helicopter. The CBI has booked a case of suspicious death to probe the crash, after the state government decided to hand over the probe to the premier agency. Speaking to the media after the visit to the site DIG Lakshminarayana said that the agency will investigate the incident from all possible angles including technical failure, human failure and turbulence. However, he said there was nothing to suggest that the crash was the result of an attack from any quarter. The CBI has formed a team led by superintendent Nageshwara Rao to probe the incident. The CBI is the second national agency, after Director-General of Civil Aviation's (DGCA DGCA Director General of Civil Aviation (India) DGCA Director General - Civil Aviation ) team, to visit the site as part of investigations. CBI officials said that they will be questioning air traffic control officials and all others who were associated with the checking and maintenance of the helicopter and monitoring its movement while in the air. The DGCA team headed by R.K. Tyagi, which has returned to New Delhi after completing its initial probe on the spot, has expressed its satisfaction with the progress and the cooperation it got from local people. The DGCA has already got hold of the transcript of the communication between the helicopter and the air traffic control of Chennai before contact was broken at around 9.12am that fateful morning when the helicopter was going from Hyderabad to Chittoor. R.K. Tyagi has said that one of the key questions which has emerged during the investigations was why was the helicopter lying at a low level of 1,900 feet. The DGCA team, which has found vital clues from the crash site, established that just ten minutes before the crash the helicopter was flying at a height of 3,000 feet but within ten minutes it came down by 1,100 feet.
