CBI raids on Indian CRPF brass.

ISLAMABAD, 13 May, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- India has become a totally corrupt society ,where security forces personnel are not an exception. Top brasses of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Army have become entirely corrupt, according to an Indian media report. It needs to be recalled that due to irregularities in CRPF recruitment of constables in 2007 whole recruitments were cancelled. Similarly, a Court of Inquiry against senior Indian Army officers involved in Army recruitment scam is still in progress. In a recent incident, the Inspector General of the CRPF in Bihar, Pushkar Singh, who is also the nodal officer to look after the deployment of the Central Para Military Force for the parliamentary election in Bihar, and nine other top officials were rounded up following CBI raids on their premises all over the country. Incriminating documents as well as cash worth Rs one crore and property papers were seized following the raids, which continued till late on Wednesday. Raids were conducted on the premises of IG, DIG and commandants of the Bihar and Jharkhand sectors, in connection with alleged bungling in the recruitment of CRPF constables in 2008-09. The raiding teams also seized several incriminating documents from the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium base of the CRPF and residential-cum-official premises of Pushkar Singh on Bailey Road in Patna. According to CBI sources, these officials who were members of the Bihar Recruitment Board, headed by Pushkar Singh were under CBI scanner. The CBI has lodged a case in which they have been accused of bungling the recruitments in return of illegal gratification from a large number of job aspirants. The accused also include some private persons. Simultaneous raids were conducted in Jamshedpur, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Daltonganj, Munger, Bhagalpur, Ranchi, Mokamaghat, Aligarh, Yamunanagar (Haryana) and Mohali (Chandigarh).
