Technologies, Inc. today announced a strategic investment in Ntirety, the provider of remote database administration services for the Microsoft SQL Server A relational DBMS from Microsoft that is a major component of the Windows Server System. It is Microsoft's high-end client/server database and is closely integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio and the Microsoft Office System.  and Oracle database platforms that was based in Newton, Mass.

Under this agreement, Ntirety becomes an affiliate company of CBE Technologies. CBE becomes the first independent New England-based IT services firm to offer customers a suite of managed services that address database integrity and application performance, the heart of business processes, and the network infrastructure that applications run on.

"With this investment in Ntirety, we've formalized for·mal·ize

an already strong business relationship that has grown through partnerships and common customers," said Michael Corey, Ntirety chief executive officer. "As a CBE Technologies company, Ntirety is offering its customers a world-class database operations center The facility or location on an installation, base, or facility used by the commander to command, control, and coordinate all crisis activities. With CBE's support we will also expand the depth and breadth of our service capabilities."

"This strategic investment in Ntirety further illustrates CBE's strategy of being the OneStop provider of managed IT services on the network and data infrastructure level," explained Peter Cowie, CBE Technologies chairman. "We envision customers benefiting from a utility computing (1) Pay-per-usage processing provided by a service organization that uses its own computers and facilities. Customers access the computers via a private network or over the Internet and are charged according to how much computing time they use, such as CPU seconds, minutes or hours.  model in which organizations purchase 'always ready, always on' computer resources when they need it much like they purchase electricity or water."

Mike Geldart, senior manager of computer operations, at Lexington, Mass.-based Cubist Pharmaceuticals, a customer of CBE Technologies and Ntirety, stated, "Dealing with one firm for our database administration and remote database monitoring needs is very appealing. Without the expense of a fully staffed IT department, we can simplify support for our sales force and executive users while securing the highest level of technical support. We get all this while using a combination of CBE's world-class infrastructure to support Ntirety's world-class remote database monitoring service."

In just the past few months, CBE acquired Providence-based IT service firm NECR NECR New England Central Railroad
NECR North East Community Radio (Scotland)
, and FireTower, Inc., the Medfield, Massachusetts information security firm that now operates as a subsidiary of CBE.
