Toronto--CBC radio has some admirable features: excellent classical music on Radio 2, good traffic reports and marks-for-trying weather reports on Radio 1; and no irritating commercials. Alas, their newscasts and talkshows continue to put their ideological slips not just on show, but unapologetically flapping right in our faces.

On Wednesday, March 3, just before 8 a.m., the ever-urbane host of "Metro Morning", Andy Barrie, interviewed three students from Holy Trinity High School, an independent Anglican school in Richmond Hill, a town just north of Toronto. He solicited their impressions of a play they had attended with their class--The Laramie Project, dealing with the murder of "gay" student Matthew Sheppard. Mr. Barrie, an expert in leading questions, was impressed by the students' mature and positive insights on the play, which is currently running at Toronto's homosexual Buddies in Bad Times theatre (funded by Metro Toronto at $230,000 for 2003). In case other schools would like their students to also become "enlightened" through the play, Mr. Barrie helpfully finished the segment with the box-office telephone number.
