) took part in the "3rd Islamic Financial Services Forum The Financial Services Forum is a non-partisan financial and economic policy organization comprised of the CEOs of 20 of the largest and most diversified financial services institutions doing business in the United States. : European Challenge," which was held recently at Paris.

The one-day forum focused on the challenges in managing liquidity in the Islamic financial services industry, said a CBB press release.

Several top officials from both the regional and international financial sector attended the event, which was jointly organized by the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB IFSB Islamic Financial Services Board (Malaysia) ) and the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) and hosted by the Banque de France Banque de France

The CBB was represented at the event by Khalid Hamad, executive director, Banking Supervision, the release said.

Discussions at the event focused on the risks associated with liquidity in the Islamic financial services industry; infrastructures for managing liquidity and its risks; legal, Shari'ah and regulatory issues in liquidity management, development of a liquidity management framework for the Islamic Financial services industry and a focused case study session highlighting approaches in selected countries.

Hamad presented a case study representing Bahrain's experience on 'Islamic Financial Services Industry' IFSI IFSI Istituto di Fisica dello Spazio Interplanetario (Italy)

 liquidity management and the different approaches undertaken by the industry and the CBB which include the 'Bank's treasury management approach', the 'Central Bank's money market approach,' and finally the 'Regulatory approach.'
