CAYMAN ISLANDS IN BLOOM.Byline: - Bob Strauss Young Cayman Islands Cayman Islands (kā`mən), British dependency (2005 est. pop. 44,300), 100 sq mi (259 sq km), comprising three islands in the West Indies. filmmaker Frank E. Flowers shot his feature debut, ``Haven,'' in an economical 29 days. What's even more impressive about that is that he essentially shot two movies at the same time. This doesn't make for a very good final product. But what the heck? Demonstrates organization, at least. Too bad Flowers couldn't have put the two stories he's telling together as well as he did the shooting schedule. ``Haven'' opens with Orlando Bloom's Shy and Zoe Saldana's Andrea having some kind of illicit, yet definitely chaste makeout session in a picturesque Caribbean cove. The next thing we know, crooked Miami businessman Carl Ridley (Bill Paxton) is dragging his resentful teenage daughter Pippa (Agnes Bruckner) down to Grand Cayman Grand Cayman See Cayman Islands. one step ahead of the feds. He's got a girdle girdle /gir·dle/ (gir´d'l) cingulum; an encircling structure or part; anything encircling a body. pectoral girdle shoulder g. full of cash under his aloha shirt and a shady English investment guy (Stephen Dillane) to track down. Almost instantly, Pippa hooks up with local scam artist Fritz (Victor Rasuk). He takes her to a party at some rich kid's house, where their paths briefly cross Shy's and Andrea's. But it's still another half-hour or so before we get away from Pippa, Carl and Fritz and back to what Shy and Andrea are all about. What a relatively big name like Orlando Bloom is doing in this otherwise very indie effort becomes clear when the pretty ``Pirates'' boy gets to go all glum glum adj. glum·mer, glum·mest 1. Moody and melancholy; dejected. 2. Gloomy; dismal. n. 1. and play against his dreamboat dream·boat n. 1. A person considered exceptionally good-looking and sexually attractive. 2. A luxurious, well-designed automobile or other vehicle. image and puke Puke Slang for selling off a losing position even if the loss is substantial. Notes: The point at which an investor decides to sell regardless of price has been dubbed "the puke point. in public. But that isn't very interesting either.
