Authorities continued Sunday to investigate an oil drilling explosion early Saturday that killed one man and critically injured in·jure

Delton Rosson, 38, was at the Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital Sherman Oaks Hopital (SOH) is an 153 bed acute care facility in Sherman Oaks, California, USA and is home of world renowned the Grossman Burn Center. SOH is owned and operated by Prime Healthcare Services, Inc.  with severe facial burns, officials said. He was listed in critical but stable condition Sunday afternoon. The man who was killed was not identified.

The man who died, along with Rosson and two others, was drilling for crude oil shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday in Tapia Canyon, about 1.5 miles east of the Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. Originally built as U.S. Highway 99, it was re-signed as Interstate 5 in 1964. , when some unknown cause, possibly their drills hitting a pocket of natural gas, set off an explosion.

Two were able to escape unharmed.
