It was later found abandoned in Sandpiper sandpiper, common name for some members of the large family Scolopacidae, small shore birds, including the snipe and the curlew. Sandpipers are wading birds with relatively long legs and long, slender bills for probing in the sand or mud for their prey—all Road, Alderman's Green, along with the cash box, which remained locked. The robbery took place at about 3.20pm on Monday. The Jeep was found abandoned 40 minutes later. Detectives are investigating the robbery and are urging those with information to come forward. Detective Sergeant Paul Jones, of Stoney Stanton Road police station, said: "Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident but we believe other people were involved andwe are looking for them. "We would like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle making off from the bank, the Jeep would have been very distinctive with red dye coming out of the windows. "We would also like to hear from anyone who saw the car or themen as they abandoned the Jeep in Sandpiper Road." He added that the red dye may well have stained the robbers' skin and would be clearly visible. The main offender is described as white, in his 20s with short-dark hair. No-one was injured during the robbery and no weapons are believed to have been used. Anyone with information that could aid the police inquiry is urged to call detectives at Stoney Stanton Road police station on 0845 113 5000.
