CATCHING ON.Byline: MATTHEW KREDELL Staff Writer Kevin Ciccone spends most of his time on a soccer field, where he doesn't look at all like a football player. He especially doesn't look like a receiver, since he can't use his hands. But Ciccone has become Hart of Newhall's top receiver despite lacking remarkable size or speed. ``I've been playing soccer for 14 years,'' said Ciccone, son of Hart soccer coach Robert Ciccone. ``But I'm seeing myself progress more and more as a football player.'' Ciccone had his best game Friday in a 27-14 victory over Birmingham of Lake Balboa Balboa, town (1990 pop. 2,751), Colón prov., in the former Panama Canal Zone, on the Gulf of Panama. The port for Panama City, Balboa was the administrative headquarters of the Panama Canal Zone. It was also the site of a U.S. navy base (closed 1999). . The two are best friends and have played together since they were freshmen. ``I can always trust him,'' Ciccone said. ``If we have a play set up for me, I know he will get it there and he knows I'll come down with it.''
