Garrett Pascolla might have to give up his baseball career to pursue his dream job.

Most of his teammates in Saturday's 29th annual Bernie Milligan All-Star Game An all-star game is an exhibition game played by the best players in their sports league. The players are often chosen by a popular vote of fans of the sport and the game often occurs at the halfway point of the regular season, although this is not the case for some all-star games  have major-league aspirations, but Pascolla has a different plan.

He wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, a 24-year veteran of the Los Angeles Fire Department The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), also known as the Los Angeles City Fire Department to distinguish it from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It is the agency that provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the city of Los Angeles. .

``My coaches are telling me to keep playing, but I'm not 100 percent sure about it,'' Pascolla said. ``I'd put the fire department before baseball.''

Pascolla's career aspirations aren't the only thing that set him apart from his all-star teammates. He hit .286 this season, the only position player on either team to hit below .300. He had no home runs and 11 RBI RBI

After being used primarily as a pitcher the past two seasons, Pascolla switched to cather this year. After a slow start at the plate because of limited plate appearances the previous two years, Pascolla hit .333 in league play, helping Valencia finish third in the Foothill League and reach the Southern Section Div. I playoffs.

Although there were better offensive players this year, it was Pascolla's defense that made him an all-star. He threw out 21 of 24 base-stealers this season.

``What Garrett did behind the plate this year was unbelievable,'' said Valencia head coach Jared Snyder, who said Pascolla was the best defensive catcher he saw this year. ``He kept us in games with his defense.''

Pascolla was so good behind the plate that he drew comparisons to his older brother, Wes, a Milligan All-Star last season who is a catcher at Santa Ana College Santa Ana College is a community college located at the corner of Bristol and Seventeenth streets in Santa Ana, California, USA.
