CAT BURGLAR; Amber puts on half a stone after breaking into fridge.Byline: Jill McLean A CAT ballooned to more than a stone in weight - after figuring out how to open her owner's fridge. Puzzled Penny Faulkner couldn't figure out why food kept going missing from her home. She finally realised the culprit was her crafty moggy moggy term of endearment addressed to a cat. Amber, who'd been burgling the fridge and feasting on delicacies This is a List of national delicacies. This list is sorted from where the food originated from. Many of these dishes may be normal to one culture, however to other cultures may seem bizarre. A delicacy is a food that is particularly prized within a given culture. such as cheese and smoked salmon. Scales Now Amber, a 12-year-old tortoiseshell, is finally getting some much-needed professional help. The puss has been put on a strict diet after topping the scales at 1st 2lb - more than half a stone heavier than the average cat. Penny, 26, from Craigmillar, Edinburgh, adopted Amber from a rescue centre in July - and the cat was already a heavyweight. She said: "Amber loves her food and is always on the lookout for in search of; looking for. See also: Lookout opportunities to scavenge scav·enge v. scav·enged, scav·eng·ing, scav·eng·es v.tr. 1. "I've even caught her stealing cake wrappers In data mining and treatment learning, wrappers were used by Ron Kohavi and George John. Their idea was to wrap their treatments learners in a preprocessor that would search to make subsets from the current set of attributes. from the bin in the kitchen and licking them clean." Exasperated Penny has now enrolled Amber at her local PDSA Pet Aid Hospital in Edinburgh, where she was found to be 62 per cent overweight. She has been put on a strict calorie-controlled diet of dried catfood and banned from indulging in treats. She has also been chosen as one of the nine UK finalists to take part in the PDSA's Pet Fit Club, which will run for 100 days. Amber has already lost 4.4lb and if she continues to evade the treats, she could end up as the UK's top pet slimmer for 2009. But the cat has a lot of nasty habits to break first before she claims any title. Penny revealed: "If I'm eating, she'll try to climb on my lap and steal food off my plate. That will definitely have to stop. "She has only lost a little bit of weight so far but you can already see the difference it has made to her life. "I'm determined to help her lose her extra weight. Her target is 10lb and I know we can do it." Bulging PDSA senior vet Elaine Pendlebury admitted yesterday: "The pet obesity problem seems to be getting worse year on year. "Excess food and lack of exercise equals weight gain and accounts for the majority of pets' bulging waistlines. "However, it's not all bad news for pets. I'm really inspired by the pet owners who have taken up our Pet Fit Club challenge. "I hope they will encourage and inspire other pet owners to help their pets lose weight."
