NEWHALL - Open casting for Jean Shepherd's ``A Christmas Story'' has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 in the Canyon Theatre Guild's main theater, 24242 San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the , Newhall.

Director Greg Finley and assistant director Jim Robinson Jim Robinson may refer to the following people:
  • James D. Robinson III, CEO of American Express from 1977 to 1993.
  • James (Jim) Robinson, one of the Bridgewater Four.
  • James W. Robinson, Jr., American soldier and posthumous Medal of Honor recipient.
 will be casting 19 roles with as many as 19 actors or as few as 11. The directors need two men who can play ages 35-50, two women who can play ages 30-50, and at least five boys and two girls between the ages of 7 and 11.

Casting of older actors to play younger roles may be done, but no one under the age of seven will be allowed to read for parts.

The play will open Nov. 29 and be shown at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 22. There may be additional Saturday matinee or Sunday evening performances.
