 is pleased to announce that Annika Bergstrom and Aaron Bryce Lee, third-grade students in Linda Ashley's class at Castaic Elementary School elementary school: see school. , have been named finalists in the second annual Coldwell Banker ``My Home: The American Dream'' contest.

Executed in conjunction with Scholastic Professional Magazines' Custom Media Group, this nationwide competition asked students in grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 to explain through images or words how they make their houses, apartments or condominiums, or other living quarters, ``homes.'' The contest generated more than 2,000 entries.

Eight-year-old Bergstrom submitted a poster shaped like a house, complete with a faux brick facing, featuring photographs of the house and the many activities she enjoys participating in with her family at home. She describes her favorite activities that she enjoys each month, including Christmas, Easter, Halloween and summertime.

Eight-year-old Lee submitted a book with poetry and a photo collage collage (kəläzh`, kō–) [Fr.,=pasting], technique in art consisting of cutting and pasting natural or manufactured materials to a painted or unpainted surface—hence, a work of art in this medium.  of his family, friends and house. He says that he loves to play by his fountain in his front yard. He closes his book with a quote from Donna Hedges: ``Having a place to go is a home. Having someone to love is a family. Having both is a blessing.''

In recognition of being chosen as a finalist, Bergstrom and Lee each will be awarded $100. ``Annika and Aaron's projects were inventive in·ven·tive
