CASSETTE TAPE USES A MOTHER'S NEW APPROACH TO PERSONALIZE CHILD'S VISIT WITH SANTA

CASSETTE TAPE USES A MOTHER'S NEW APPROACH
TO PERSONALIZE CHILD'S VISIT WITH SANTA
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- A mother's experience with introducing Santa has resulted in a personalized cassette tape designed to make the experience more rewarding, wondrous and fun for the child.
Nita Peters-McKeethen, who sent away for a letter from Santa only to find it boring to her young son, has developed a cassette, "A Personal Message From Santa" ($9.95 plus $3 shipping, call 800-769-8273) which she says is happy, child-oriented, positive and builds self-esteem.
"Since videos leave nothing to the imagination and most Santa fans cannot read, cassette tapes are clearly a far better developmental medium," says Peters-McKeethen, an educator and student of Positive Mental Attitude (PMA).
Because, she says, for children, hearing is believing, "Children really get a kick out of hearing Santa say their name several times in that jolly voice of his."
Santa is played on the tape by Brian Simpson, a Scottsdale, Ariz., disc jockey who has been his local mall's resident Kris Kringle for five years. "Brian is Santa. The first time I heard his voice, I knew our search for the perfect Santa was over. We have found him -- the Santa of every child's Christmas fantasy," Peters- McKeethen says.
In "A Personal Message From Santa," Santa Claus talks directly to the child. The child becomes part of Santa's magical world as he speaks happily of his year-long preparations for Christmas, his busy little elves and how wonderful and special the child is.
Santa's toyshop is brought to life and the merry holiday mood further enhanced by background Christmas music and sounds, another advantage cassette tapes have over letters.
Peters-McKeethen remembers reading that letter from Santa "in my silliest voice, gestures and all. Still my three-year-old was totally uninterested."
"With the tape," says the former assistant dean of students at National University in Nevada, "The children get so excited. Their eyes light up. They want to play the tape over and over."
Most names are available on "A Personal Message From Santa," ($9.95 plus $3 shipping). A free gift accompanies each tape. A portion of the proceeds from each tape is donated to C.A.R.E. for Somalian Relief and the Make A Wish Foundation. Order by calling 800-769-8273.
