CASINO DATA SYSTEMS GETS OK FOR NEW SYSTEM

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nevada Gaming Control Board has approved Casino Data System's (NASDAQ: CSDS) new multi-site progressive system that links slot machines throughout the state. The technology is operating the "Fastest Cash" progressive system in seven Circus Circus casinos in Nevada, paying over 150 $10,000 or more jackpots since the unveiling in May, for an average of three jackpots every 48 hours.
Created by Casino Data Systems, the underlying technology can be used to produce giant jackpots both in and outside of Nevada. The new product has successfully competed with IGT's Megabucks series, begun in the mid 80'S.
Unlike competing systems, the new design by CDS is unique in its ability to interface with virtually any make or model of slot machine, as well as with a variety of displays. Operators of the CDS system are free to choose the game type and denomination, the initial jackpot amount, the speed at which the jackpot increases and whether the jackpot is paid all at once or as an annuity.
"No other approved system offers casinos this much flexibility," noted CDS President Steven A. Weiss. "The new multi-site progressive system was designed by Casino Data Systems in accordance with our corporate mission of providing gaming customers with high tech products to meet their specific needs. This Gaming Control Board approval of our new system is good news, both for CDS and industry demands."
Weiss added that Casino Data Systems will now focus on making this technology available in other gaming jurisdictions where it is legal to operate multi-property progressive systems.
The Nevada State Gaming Control Board completed the final phase of its review of the new system this week, and notified Casino Data Systems that the linked progressive system was suitable for installation in Nevada and was approved as "associated equipment," pursuant to and in compliance with gaming regulations. Prospective users of the product in Nevada may install and use the product by complying with Nevada regulations pertaining to the installation and use of associated equipment.
Casino Data Systems, based in Las Vegas, is the leading supplier to the gaming industry of on-line, real time slot accounting and player tracking systems.
