A TODDLER is claiming criminal injuries compensation after being attacked - by another toddler! Three-year-old Jay Jones was hit by a playmate of the same age after they were left alone in the back of a car. His mum, Renai Williams, 29, claims Jay was hit 11 times around the head and face with a car jack and had to be taken to hospital. In a legal first, a firm of solicitors in Liverpool has won a ruling allowing the youngster, now five, to claim compensation for the injuries he received. His attacker, who cannot be identified, was never prosecuted because of his age. Mum-of-three Renai, from Wirral, Merseyside, said: "We got a phone call saying Jay had been hurt but we thought it was nothing more than the usual bump and scrapes kids get involved in. But I thought he was dead when I first saw him. There was blood everywhere and he was limp and lifeless. It was a sight no mother should ever have to see. "He was lying there barely conscious and covered in blood. We asked what had happened and the other parents simply pointed to a car jack covered in blood. I felt sick." She claims Jay was in hospital for two days and still bears the scars of the attack. The swelling on his face took a month to subside, she says, and he suffered nightmares and bed-wetting for months afterwards.
