CAS Solution Receives "SAP Certified Integration" Certification from SAP (R).

Demand Side Management Specialist Achieves Successful SAP Certification

ATLANTA & KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany -- SAP AG has awarded CAS, the world's leading provider of Demand Side Management solutions for the Consumer Products industry, the SAP "Certified Integration" seal for its CPWerx[TM] 6.0 suite of solutions. To complete the certification process, CAS had to demonstrate to SAP that its solution could integrate seamlessly to transfer order data to an SAP system using HTTP. The actual case tested for integration was based on transfer of order data from CPWerx 6.0 to SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 (SAP ECC 5.0). The CPWerx solutions suite, which was developed on the SOA principle and based on Microsoft.NET, achieved all the criteria without a hitch.

CAS has a long history of integration with SAP, with approximately 200 successful integration projects in clients' SAP environments, covering connection of its own solutions at both the back end and the front end. Clients benefit from the process expertise of CAS' sector specialists, which ensures that users at the front end have all the relevant information for their particular step in the process available at the right place and at the right stage of the overall process. Standard interfaces with SAP, other ERP systems and in house software solutions, along with integration templates, make for fast and accurate implementation.

CPWerx has been developed based on Microsoft.NET technology on the service oriented architecture (SOA) paradigm, and has a five-layer architecture. The user interface layer creates the user interface in an Internet browser. Following this is the web services layer, which controls how the user interface is created. The third layer is home to the business logic function, where business rules and validations are carried out on the application server. The fourth layer, data abstraction, supports a variety of DBMS technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft and IBM, and allows the databases extracted from the fifth (database) layer to be available to the upper levels. All applications and elements of the CPWerx suite, from Trade Promotion Management to Field Sales Management, Category Management and Reporting & Analytics, are completely integrated and use a joint data set with a consistent data model.

Because current integration and data exchange standards like XML or Web Services are supported, data can be exchanged between CPWerx and SAP solutions in both directions. In addition, selected SAP functions can be displayed and executed in the CPWerx user interface and vice versa.

CPWerx - the CAS solution for demand side management

The efficiency potential that ERP or supply chain management solutions offer remains largely underdeveloped in most companies. By concentrating on the demand generating processes that drive the effectiveness of their actions, manufacturers can have a direct and focused impact on brand growth and profitability. Such focus once more allows manufacturers to gain competitive advantage from their campaigns. This concentration on process effectiveness and profitable brand growth is at the heart of demand side management. Indeed the latest version of CPWerx, 6.0 has been centered on the philosophy of Demand Side Management, in order to allow manufacturers to focus and grow in this manner.

CPWerx 6.0 is the largest solution for the management of demand oriented consumer products processes in the world. In this version, enhanced reporting and analytics functionality includes an Information Store which offers more than 90 sector-specific reports to support optimization of the planning and implementation cycle. Integrated via a single interface, CPWerx 6.0 ensures brand growth activities are both more transparent and also seamlessly integrated across both function and channel. Whether at head office, a remote office or in a store CPWerx 6.0 ensures the right information is always available at the right time. In addition to the new Reporting and Analysis module, there are substantial improvements to the Trade Promotion Management and Field Sales Management modules. Put simply, CPWerx 6.0 offers a consistent overall approach to solving demand side management issues. With just a few clicks of the mouse, companies can be in complete control of all measures that create demand, so as to accelerate demand and increase their rate of return.
