CARWASH TO AID CHILDREN IN NEED.

 -- The 999 for Kids program will benefit from a fundraiser carwash Thursday at the Valencia AutoSpa.

Volunteers will wash cars from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for a $19 wash.

999 is the law enforcement code for ``officer needs emergency help,'' said sheriff's Deputy Mike Lorenzi, who is coordinating the event.

``In this instance, we do need help,'' Lorenzi said. ``Across Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  all Sheriff's Department stations help raise much needed funds for this cause during the months of June and July.''

So far, nearly 200 tickets have been sold with a goal of doubling that.
