SOUTHAMPTON 1 BIRMINGHAM 2 LEE CARSLEY Lee Carsley (born February 28, 1974 in Birmingham, England) is a professional football player for Everton, and who represents the Republic of Ireland internationally (his grandmother is from Dunmanway, County Cork).  and Lee Bowyer showed the ever-growing gap between these two sides by hitting late goals for Premier League City.

Last season the clubs clashed in the Championship, but this season Saints kicked off with minus nine points in League One. Yet Adam Lallana seemed to have bridged the great divide as he struck for six minutes after the break, curling his inch-perfect right-foot shot over Maik Taylor and into the top corner.
