CARSLEY COMPLETES BRUM DEAL.

REPUBLIC of Ireland international Lee Carsley yesterday completed his move to Birmingham City.

The 34-year-old midfielder agreed to the switch a fortnight ago while on holiday.

But Carsley last night completed a medical at the Championship club having rejected a one-year extension at Everton.

"My contract ran out, I was offered a new deal there but I felt it was the time to move on," said Carsley. "I wanted a new challenge."

Meanwhile, Owen Garvan is confident he won't have to leave Ipswich to further his Republic of Ireland career.

The 20-year-old, who has been offered a new two-year deal by manager Jim Magilton, said: "As long as you are doing well then there is no reason a player from outside the Premier League can't break into the national side."
