CARS, CASH, FUN OLDIES, GOODIES SHOW ON TAP AT SPEEDWAY.

SAUGUS - They might not be speeding around the oval track It has been suggested that and be merged into this article or section. , but the cars that will be at Saugus Speedway on Sept. 14 probably will draw just as much of a crowd as the race cars that graced the local landmark for years, up until 1995.

The seventh annual Oldies Oldies is a generic term commonly used to describe a radio format that usually concentrates on Top 40 music from the '50s, '60s and '70s.

Oldies are typically from R&B, pop and rock music genres.
 and Goodies Classic Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will feature more than 500 classic vehicles whose owners will compete for cash prizes and trophies. The competition is intense as owners await the announcement of the winners of $1,000 for Car of the Year, $750 for Truck of the Year and $500 for Motorcycle of the Year, as well as Best of Show trophies in more than 30 categories.

But it's not just the cars that bring people to this event year after year. It's the chance to turn back the clock and return to an era when greasers in leather jackets and hep chicks in poodle skirts cruised to the local drive-in in a car with white rims and tail fins.
