Ron Hornaday Ron Hornaday, Jr. (born in Palmdale, California on June 20, 1958) is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver. He is the father of former NASCAR driver Ronnie Hornaday, and the son of Ron Hornaday, Sr., a two time Winston West Champion.  Jr., coming off his third consecutive top-five performance for Carroll Racing on the NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla.  Busch Grand National Division, will get a shot at racing in the Winston Cup Brickyard 400 on Sunday.

Hornaday will be behind the wheel of the BAM Racing BAM Racing is a NASCAR racing team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, owned by Beth Ann and Tony Morgenthau. The team's #49 PVA.org Dodge Charger runs full-time in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series.  Dodge during qualifying today for the Cup race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Coordinates:

The former Saugus Speedway champion has tried to qualify the BAM Racing Dodge before with little success. Shawna Robinson, the only woman driver on the Winston Cup Series, is the regular driver of the No. 49 BAM Racing Dodge.

Hornaday is coming off a fourth-place finish at Pikes Peak International Raceway Pikes Peak International Raceway was a one mile oval Auto Racing track located in Fountain, Colorado, south of Colorado Springs and north of Pueblo. Capacity: 42,000 Grandstand seats, 20,000 Infield capacity.  in Colorado, his fourth top five in the last five Busch Series races.

Indianapolis Raceway Park should prove favorable to Hornaday and keep his streak of high finishes alive. Indianapolis Raceway Park is the site of Hornaday's last Busch Series victory, in August of 2000.

--NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series: M.K. Kanke of Frazier Park finished third in the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series Madera Auto Center/IWX 125 last Saturday night at Madera Speedway.

Kanke, driver of the No. 98 Community Recycling Chevy, maintained his hold of second-place in the Southwest Series standings and trails leader Eddy McKean by 89 points.

McKean finished second in the Madera race to pad his points.

Burney Lamar won his first race of the season and made it 10 different winners in 10 races on the Southwest Series.

Frank Maronski Jr. of Quartz Hill was 11th and Bob Lyon of Acton was 15th.

--NASCAR Winston West Series: Greg Pursley of Santa Clarita was fourth in last Saturday night's JaniKing 200 at Irwindale Speedway.

Pursley closed the gap on Mike David, who finished seventh in the race, in the Winston West rookie points standings. David leads Purley 54-52.

Austin Cameron won the JaniKing 200 in a car that won three previous races for Orleans Racing at Irwindale Speedway.

Two-time Winston West champion Brendan Gaughan, now a regular on the Craftsman Truck Series, won all three races at Irwindale Speedway last year in the same No. 16 Orleans Racing Chevy that Cameron won with this time around.

``I'm glad we could continue the tradition for the No. 16,'' Cameron said. ``We had an awesome car.''

--American Le Mans Series: The Trois-Rivieres circuit in Canada is no stranger to auto racing, having held events for 33 years.

But this weekend will mark the first time the American Le Mans Series The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) is a sports car racing series based in the United States and Canada. It consists of a series of endurance and sprint races, and was created in the spirit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  will race on the 2.459-mile Mosport International Raceway Mosport International Raceway (formerly Mosport Park) is a multi-track facility located north of Bowmanville, Ontario. The facility features a 2.459-mile, 10-turn road course; a half-mile paved oval; and the new 1.  road course in Ontario.

The two-car Panoz Motor Sports team is coming off its second win, in Washington, D.C., of the American Le Mans Series season. Drivers David Brabham and Jan Magnussen have won both races for Panoz.

Valencia's Bryan Herta and Bill Auberlen are the drivers for the second Panoz team and will be looking to share in the recent victories.

But the streets of Bowmanville, Ontario, are going to create a challenge for all the teams.

``It's certainly going to be a very tough weekend,'' Magnussen said. ``This is a real street track complete with quite a few bumps and a crown in the road. It is going to be a good challenge for the engineers to get the car to work well around here. Finding grip will not be easy.''
