Carroll, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior, completed 17 of 30 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 50 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown in his debut.

``It feels good to get this one under my belt,'' said Carroll, who completed only three of his first nine attempts. ``I felt sick all day.''

Carroll connected with standout receiver Cody Joyce six times for 77 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown pass. Joyce added touchdown runs of one and four yards.

Granada Hills, which was 0-10 last season, managed only 75 total yards in the first half but managed much better against the Indians' second string in the fourth quarter.

Trailing the defending Southern Section Division II champions 45-0 in the final four minutes, quarterback Ricky Mathiesen connected with Frank Rosario (nine yards) and Leon Pimky (29 yards) for touchdown passes.

Mathiesen finished 14 of 29 for 136 yards, including 11 of his last 15 for 119 yards.
