CARRIE'S CARROTS; EXCLUSIVE Sex and City star judges vegetable contest in Donegal.

Byline: PAUL MARTIN

BEING one of the world's biggest TV stars counts for nothing when you're in down-to-earth Donegal - just ask Sarah Jessica Parker.

The Sex And The City actress, who plays Carrie Bradshaw, surprised residents in the quaint village of Ardara by popping up at the unlikeliest places.

She even attended the village show at the weekend and helped to judge the biggest carrot competition.

Sarah Jessica slipped into Ireland last Friday to enjoy a few days in the Kilcar home she shares with her actor husband Matthew Broderick.

But the 39-year-old was in her element as she wandered around the various stalls with two female pals.

Later in the day the multi-millionaire actress - who is also the face of Gap clothes - made her next appearance at the Corner House bar in Ardara. One pub worker said: "When she came to the door I was going to charge her half price because she looked that young. I honestly thought she was in her early teens."

Sarah Jessica sipped half pints of Guinness and tapped her feet to the traditional Irish music before making her exit at 12.30am.

But she was back on the town again the next night.

This time she booked into her favourite restaurant, the remote Castle Murray House in Dunkineely.

A staff member revealed: "We always give her one of the best tables overlooking the lake - it's spectacular."

A source close to the star added: "She loves coming to Donegal because nobody ever bothers her."
