CARRAGHER: TODAY IS BIGGEST GAME OF MY LIFE.

JAMIE CARRAGHER Simon Petersen(born January 28, 1978 in Bootle, Merseyside) is an English international footballer playing his club football at Liverpool where he is at present vice-captain, behind teammate and fellow Liverpudlian Steven Gerrard.  has played in some huge games during his Anfield career.

But as he prepares to make his 392nd top-flight appearance in a red shirt, Carragher believes today's visit of struggling Blackburn is the biggest league game of his life.

With Rafa Benitez's Champions League ambitions reduced to tatters tat·ter 1

following Chelsea's 3-1 demolition at Anfield on Wednesday, Liverpool must overcome Sam Allardyce's side to save their season.

Having featured in the European Cup-winning side of 2005, Carragher believes in miracles and is refusing to write off Liverpool's chances of a sensational sen·sa·tion·al

 on Tuesday.

But it's today's test against Blackburn that really matters to him.

"In the 13 years I have been involved in the first team this will be the biggest league game I've played in - it really is that important," said Carragher.

"If we win we can go top of the league with just six games to go and if someone had told us that when the season started we would have been delighted.

"I'm not just saying this because of what happened against Chelsea the other night.

"The league has always been the priority.

"This is a massive chance for us and I'm sure the fans will create a great atmosphere because they know what is at stake."

Carragher offers no excuses for the defeat that has left Liverpool's European ambitions in ruins.

Instead he insists that Chelsea were the better of the two teams on the night.

But he added: "It's important to remember that we've now played them and Manchester United five times this season and we've won four of those games.

"We've played more than 40 games in the Premier League and the Champions League - the two biggest competitions - and we've lost only three times.

"One of the most important things is that when we have lost we've tended to respond in the right way by going on good runs. That's what we'll be looking to do again.

"We've still got a hell of a lot to play for." Kop boss Benitez insists he has seen a positive reaction from his players in training since Wednesday.

"The mood among the players is really good," he said.

"They are really focused because they know this is a massive game and really important." "Hopefully we can play well and win, and put pressure on Manchester United.

"We have to fight until the end."
