CARR GOTTSTEIN ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 1995--Carr Gottstein Foods Company (NYSE:CGF), the largest food and drug retailer in Alaska, today announced the resignation of Gregory M. Carr.

Gregory M. Carr, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing resigned effective August 24th to return to Gregory Associates, his own marketing consulting firm. Mr. Carr will continue to work with the company and act as a consultant to Carr Gottstein Foods in the areas of marketing and promotions while directly supervising Alaska Advertising, a subsidiary of the company.

Gary Schloss, formerly Vice President, General Merchandise, has been promoted to Vice President, Grocery and General Merchandise and will assume responsibility for some of the duties previously handled by Mr. Carr. Mr. Schloss will report to Larry Hayward, Chief Operating Officer who will take a more active role in the perishable and marketing areas of the business.
