CAROLEE'S "FIRST CATS" CELEBRATION

NEW YORK, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- There are paw prints at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue! Not only are the Democrats back in the White House, but Chelsea Clinton's four-legged friend "Socks" has taken Washington by storm. Carolee, the internationally acclaimed Fashion Jewelry Designer has captured the adorable black and white feline in a purrfectly whimsical pin.
"Socks" is the new First Cat...the first cat in the White House in 12 years! The last cat in residence was "Misty Malarky Ying Yang," Amy Carter's Siamese cat. Past White House cats have included Theodore Roosevelt's "Slippers," Woodrow Wilson's "Puffins," John F. Kennedy's "Tom Kitten," and Susan Ford's Siamese cat "Chan."
"Socks" is the newest member of Carolee's extensive collection of cat pins. He is hand enameled in black with white socks, sporting a crystal collar, and proudly stands 1-1/2 inches tall.
Carolee Designs is holding a "Socks" look-alike contest and a Cat Celebration at Bloomingdales in New York City on Saturday, Feb. 6. Customers will be invited to bring a photograph of themselves with their look-a-like cat. Carolee will meet the owners, judge the winner and make a donation in the winners name to the Delta Society. The Delta Society partners stray cats with underprivileged children and the elderly. The winner will also receive a special cat pin.
The First Cat Celebration will be held across the country at stores including Neiman Marcus, Saks, Burdines, I. Magnin and Marshall Fields this spring. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the Delta Society Pet Partners program.
In the meantime, "Socks" is available exclusively at all Bloomingdales stores and retails for $45.00.
