As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 4,201. It is the county seat of Hunterdon County. on August 19, 1996. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and full banking services will be available. A permanent office will be located at 171 Main Street in Flemington and will be open for business later this year, replacing the temporary mini-branch.
