CARNEGIE BANCORP DECLARES $.12 QUARTERLY CASH DIVIDEND.


PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MAY 6, 1996--CARNEGIE BANCORP (NASDAQ/NMS: CBNJ CBNJ Community Bancorp of New Jersey , CBNJW) today announced that at the April 17, 1996 meeting of its Board of Directors, CARNEGIE BANCORP declared a second quarter cash dividend of $.12 per share to shareholders of record on May 20, 1996, payable on June 19, 1996.

This represents the 18th consecutive quarter in which the Company has paid a cash dividend. CARNEGIE's solid earnings growth has enabled the Company to consistently pay a quarterly cash dividend, beginning with $.06 per share in 1992, increasing to $.08 per share in 1993, $.10 per share in 1994 and $.12 per share in 1995.

CARNEGIE recently announced the authorization The right or permission to use a system resource; the process of granting access. See access control.  of an annual 5% stock dividend to shareholders of record on April 24, 1996 and payable on May 15, 1996. This stock dividend marks the seventh consecutive 5% annual stock dividend paid to shareholders since 1990.
