CARMAX PICKS DELTA SCIENTIFIC TO BOOST ITS SECURITY SYSTEM.Byline: Daily News VALENCIA - Delta Scientific, the Valencia company that secures government buildings around the nation, has a new client, the nation's leading specialty retailer of used cars. CarMax, based in Richmond, Va., sought a low maintenance system to integrate with its present security system to deter thefts from its lots. The company chose Delta Scientific's cable beam barricades and high security cantilever gates and had them installed at 40 CarMax locations nationwide. The barriers and gates are part of an integrated system and programmed to open and close only during store hours. The system is partnered with a low frequency technology that scans the stock number on the front window of the vehicle and records who took the car as well as when it left and returned.
