CARL E. CODE NAMED PRESIDENT AND COO OF FINDLAY INDUSTRIES

 TROY, Mich., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Carl E. Code Jr. has been named president and chief operating officer of Findlay Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of original-equipment interior trim components for the automotive and heavy-vehicle markets. Code was formerly president and chief operating officer of Takata, Inc., an automotive safety restraint supplier in Auburn Hills, Mich.
 Code will replace Philip D. Gardner, the founder of Findlay Industries, who will retain the title of chairman and chief executive officer.

 Code has some 27 years of automotive experience. He began his career in 1966 with the General Motors Truck & Bus Division where he served in various production and purchasing assignments.
 He has also held executive positions in materials management and purchasing at General Motors' corporate headquarters, Cadillac and Inland Fisher Guide. From 1985 to 1991, he was director of materials management for the Chevrolet-Pontiac-Canada Group, before assuming the top job at Takata.
 Code, a graduate of Wayne State University, has taken graduate courses at the Harvard Business School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
 Founded in 1959, Findlay Industries is a major supplier of seats, headliners, door panels and other interior and exterior components to car and truck makers in North America. Findlay Industries manufactures these products at 15 plants in the United States and Mexico. The company is headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, and also maintains a Sales and Engineering center in Troy where Code will be based.
