CARL'S JR. ASSISTS RELIEF PROGRAM IN L.A. ANAHEIM, Calif., May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 300 Carl's Jr.
restaurants in Southern California are now collecting food and clothing for Los Angeles area residents affected by the recent rioting. Donations collected in the restaurants are being distributed by The Salvation Army as part of the company's "Carl's Jr. Cares About L.A." relief effort.
Each participating restaurant has two collection cans -- one for non-perishable food items and another for new or used clothing in good condition. Carl's Jr. will continue the collection effort until June. "We would like the citizens of Southern California to join us and assist The Salvation Army's relief efforts," Vice President of Restaurant Operations Rory Murphy said. "Any food and clothing our guests donate will go to The Salvation Army. We have confidence in this organization's ability to help where it is needed most, and we are offering our locations as a way to maximize collection efforts." Carl's Jr. is also sponsoring a three-day employee volunteer effort, which began May 13. Approximately 100 Carl's Jr. restaurant employees are serving the South Central L.A. community by working at a community church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc.
