CARJACKING SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER CRASH.

 at gunpoint from a woman with a child were in custody after crashing the SUV into a wall a half-mile away, sheriff's officials said.

The 17-year-old Palmdale boys are accused of stealing a new Ford Expedition The Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV built by the Ford Motor Company. Introduced in 1997 it slots between the smaller Ford Explorer, and the now discontinued and larger Ford Excursion. The Expedition offers up to eight passenger seating and a range of V8 engines.  in the parking lot of Mesa Intermediate School in the 3200 block of Avenue R-8 at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said.

The woman and her child were walking to their vehicle when one boy produced a handgun and demanded the keys, officials said. She complied, and the gunman drove away in her vehicle.

The gunman picked up the second teen, but crashed into a block wall at 37th Street East and Avenue R-8. Both boys took off on foot.

A few minutes later, a deputy responding to the carjacking call spotted the teen-agers in a field north of Avenue S, west of 47th Street East. The deputy detained de·tain
