CARJACK RESULTS IN LIFE TERM.

Nineteen-year-old Arturo Mota of Lancaster pleaded guilty Wednesday to kidnapping kidnapping, in law, the taking away of a person by force, threat, or deceit, with intent to cause him to be detained against his will. Kidnapping may be done for ransom or for political or other purposes.  for the purpose of carjacking and was immediately sentenced to a life term, officials said.

Mota and two companions were accused of punching a motorist and forcing their way into his vehicle Aug. 16 at 12th Street West and Avenue J-11.

The trio ordered the man to drive away, then a short distance away told him to get out, deputies said. As the robbers drove off, the motorist ran to a nearby business for help.

Lancaster gang detectives spent months identifying the three suspects.
