WHY DID YOU START THIS BUSINESS? The need for recognition, appreciation, acknowledgment acknowledgment, in law, formal declaration or admission by a person who executed an instrument (e.g., a will or a deed) that the instrument is his. The acknowledgment is made before a court, a notary public, or any other authorized person.  and the feeling that you as an individual made a difference is one of the strongest human needs. I want to make it easy for people to reach out and fill that need in others. My products do that.

 for most of my career, I spent much time motivating and inspiring others. Every year I designed and sent an annual ``holiday recognition card'' for family, friends and colleagues. HOW LONG WAS IT FROM CONCEPT TO OPENING? Six months.

WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THAT TIME? Researched other greeting Greeting is a way for humans[1] to intentionally communicate awareness of each other's presence, to show attention to, and/or to affirm or suggest a type of relationship or social status between individuals or groups of people coming in contact with  card-, inspiration- and personal development tool-based small businesses. Learned about pay-per-click A marketing system on the Web in which the advertiser pays when the user clicks on its advertisement and goes to its site. This is a more interactive, results-oriented method compared to paying for just the placement of a banner ad on a Web page regardless if anyone clicks on it.  advertising and made contacts with possible distributors for my products.

WHAT WERE YOUR STARTUP COSTS AND HOW DID YOU FINANCE THE BUSINESS? $5,000, self-financed.

WHO DID YOU RELY ON FOR ADVICE? Clients, friends, family, Web developer... anyone who I could get to look at the site to offer an objective opinion on how and what the Web site was communicating.

WHAT HADN'T YOU CONSIDERED BEFORE OPENING? Everything takes longer than expected. The Web development, the correct pricing and reaching the right market for my products has all taken longer than I thought, and it's constantly evolving.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTED REVENUE THIS YEAR? $40,000.

WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE COMPANY? I would like to be instrumental in encouraging people to create an atmosphere of achievement for themselves and others. I would like to partner with other businesses that offer inspirational in·spi·ra·tion·al

 and motivational products, including books, audio and video tapes and CDs and DVDs. My products are for the day after the motivational seminar, the minute after the inspirational CD is turned off. Everybody needs that boost, that lift of spirit, that constant, gentle reminder of what's important.
