CARCO Group Inc. Names New Chief Executive Officer; Former FBI ``Counter-Terrorism Czar'' and Olympics Security Expert Dale L. Watson Takes Helm.


ST. JAMES, N.Y. -- CARCO Group Inc., a leading multinational security company, today named Dale L. Watson Chief Executive Officer. "Mr. Watson's skills will help CARCO Group achieve new standards of excellence and shape the future of the post 9/11 world of security," said CARCO Chairman Peter L. O'Neill. Prior to assuming his current position as Chief of Police in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , William J. Bratton William Joseph 'Bill' Bratton is currently the 54th Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), and was formerly Commissioner of the New York City Police Department, the only person to hold both positions.  was President of CARCO.

Watson's extensive security experience includes 24 years with the FBI, where he was the Bureau's first Executive Assistant Director for Counter-Terrorism (CT) and Counter-Intelligence (CI). His responsibilities included management of the international and domestic terrorism Noun 1. domestic terrorism - terrorism practiced in your own country against your own people; "the 1995 bombing of a federal building in Oklahoma City was an instance of domestic terrorism"  programs, and the National Infrastructure Protection Center. Watson held that position on September 11, 2001, and has been involved in every major terrorist investigation of the last decade. He also directed CT efforts for the Olympic games in Salt Lake City, and Sydney, Australia.

He has testified numerous times before Congress on CI and CT issues, was a regular contributor to National Security Council, and briefed senior members of the current administration, including President Bush.

Most recently Watson served as a principal in Booz Allen's Global Strategic Security practice, where he worked to build public-private sector partnerships. Watson has been recognized with numerous awards, most notably the FBI's Meritorious Achievement Award, the CIA's Donovan Award, the CIA's George W. Bush Medal for Counter-Terrorism, and the Presidential Rank Award for Senior Executives. He is a graduate of the FBI's National Executive Institute and former Chairman of the Terrorism Committee of the International Association of Chiefs of Police
