CAR WASH TO RAISE FUNDS FOR FUNERALS YOUNG PAIR KILLED ON TRAIN TRACKS.

NEWHALL - Friends of two young people killed last week by a Metrolink train will wash cars today to help the families with funeral expenses.

Fernando Nava Munoz, 19, of Palmdale, and Sandra Fabiola Quijada Garcia, 16, of Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, , both former Hart High School Hart High School may refer to:
  • Hart High School — Newhall, California
  • Hart High School — Hart, Michigan
  • Hart County High School — Munfordville, Kentucky
  • Hart County High School — Hartwell, Georgia
 students, were hit by the train while walking along tracks in Newhall. Their deaths were declared accidental.

The car wash will start at 8 a.m. and run ``until we don't have cars,'' said Patty Ayala, whose brother was a friend of Munoz.

``My dad was his soccer coach,'' Ayala said. ``I'm a mother of one and I just can't imagine how hard this is on their mothers.''

The car wash will be held at the Valley Worship Center, 24346 San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the , Newhall. A donation of $5 per car is requested and additional donations will be accepted.

Services for Garcia were held Friday, followed by burial burial, disposal of a corpse in a grave or tomb.
