CAR STUCK AS TIDE RUSHES IN.


A COUPLE sparked an emergency yesterday after their 4x4 got stuck on a beach.

Police spotted the Suzuki Vitara trapped in sand 200 metres from shore as the tide rushed in at Ardrossan, Ayrshire.

The unnamed man, 38, and woman, 36, abandoned the off-roader at 9.10am as the water rose. Two life boats also attended and the RNLI RNLI (in Britain) Royal National Lifeboat Institution

 later winched the car clear. The occupants were both charged with road traffic offences.
