Also killed in the 5:15 p.m. Tuesday crash was Dameon Deon Hill, 21, of Lancaster, the driver.

Deputies said the crash happened as a Toyota Tercel The Tercel was Toyota's entry-level vehicle in North America during the 1980s and 1990s. Near 4th Street East, for an unknown reason, the car swerved off the right side of the road and into the back yard of a home bordering Avenue K.

After hitting a block wall and a fence, the car crashed through the home's sliding glass door and came to rest in the dining room. A woman inside the home was not injured.

Hill was pronounced dead after the crash. Johnson, who was riding in the rear seat behind the driver, was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital in serious condition. He died after being taken off life support, officials said.

Passengers William Chacon, 21, Johan Riley, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, whose name was not released because of his age, were transported by ambulance to Antelope Valley Hospital with what officials described as minor to moderate injuries. All three Lancaster residents remained hospitalized Wednesday.

Traffic investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash.

``At this point, we don't have much to go on,'' said Deputy Mark Johnson. ``We just don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)
