CAR HITS MAN IN RESTAURANT.

A newly licensed driver lost control of her car, which hit a man Tuesday sitting inside a Saugus restaurant, authorities said.

Gisela Borkton, 57, was pulling out of a driveway on Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita. The front bumper of Borkton's car hit Howard Rutherford, 37, of Saugus, who was sitting at a table inside the restaurant, Mulcahy said.

Borkton, who lives in Canyon Country, told the investigating deputy that she did not know what caused her to lose control of the car, Mulcahy said.

Borkton also told the deputy that she received her driver's license Noun 1. driver's license - a license authorizing the bearer to drive a motor vehicle

 six weeks ago, the sergeant said.

Rutherford, who complained of back pain, said he would seek his own medical treatment, Mulcahy said.
