CAPTE, private accreditors oppose Higher Education Act changes: June 4.

), the American Council on Education Established in 1918, the American Council on Education (ACE) is a United States organization comprising over 1,800 accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities and higher education-related associations, organizations, and corporations.  (ACE), and other accrediting and educational organizations in calling for significant changes in the "College Access and Opportunity Act," HR 428,3, before it is considered by the House Education and the Workforce Committee.

Although the bill's sponsors have indicated a desire for quick action on the legislation, the legislation has not been scheduled for committee action in the House. There is no similar bill in the Senate, where prospects for the bill this year are uncertain due in part to the already crowded legislative calendar.
