 CAPITAL HOLDING NAMES NEW TREASURER FOR THE CORPORATION
 LOUISVILLE, Ky., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Holding Corporation


(NYSE: CPH) today announced that Elaine J. Robinson has been promoted to vice president and treasurer of the corporation.
 In her new position, Robinson is responsible for liquidity management, including cash management, banking and rating agency relationships.
 Robinson replaces Barbara J. Laski who resigned to return to her home state of Connecticut for personal reasons.
 Robinson joined Capital Holding as second vice president, corporate finance in August 1987, and was appointed second vice president and assistant treasurer, corporate finance and treasury later that year. Prior to joining Capital Holding, Robinson held a variety of increasingly responsible financial positions with Brown-Forman Corporation.
 Robinson is a graduate of the University of Louisville and earned a law degree from the University of Louisville in 1973. She attended the Program for Financial Management at the Wharton School of Business in 1981, and recently served a three-year term on the board of directors for the Financial Executives Institute. Robinson is also active with the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association.
 Capital Holding Corporation is one of the nation's five largest shareholder-owned life insurance organizations, with $18.2 billion in assets and $44.3 billion of life insurance coverage in force.
