CAPG Announces 2006 Board Officers.


LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  -- The California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  Association of Physician Groups (CAPG CAPG Child and Adolescent Psychopathology (course name) ), California's largest physician organization association, today announced it has elected Barton Wald, M.D., as chair of the association's executive committee and board of directors. Wald's one-year term as the CAPG chair began on Jan. 1, 2006. The association also named Robert Margolis, M.D., CEO of HealthCare Partners Medical Group, as its chair elect.

"Dr. Wald's background as a physician, coupled with his extensive experience in executive management with hospital, health plan, practice management and physician organizations, demonstrates he is a proven leader and valuable asset to the CAPG organization," said Donald Crane, president and CEO for CAPG. "With Dr. Wald at the helm, I'm confident CAPG will make significant strides forward in 2006 as we continue our efforts to improve health care for Californians."

As chair, Wald leads committee and board activities essential to the management of the association. His focus is on monitoring the needs of the organization's membership as they work with health plans, legislators, regulators and each other to improve health care delivery and identify strategies that help strengthen their medical group practices.
