CANYONS TO HOST BUSINESS MEET ENTREPRENEURS TO OFFER THEIR ADVICE, EXPERIENCE.

VALENCIA -- The upcoming Dream and Discover Entrepreneur entrepreneur (än'trəprənûr`) [Fr.,=one who undertakes], person who assumes the organization, management, and risks of a business enterprise.  Conference at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  will give hopeful business owners inspiration from both local and national sources.

Headlining the Oct. 31 meeting will be Jeff and Rich Sloan, two brothers who created StartupNation, a media company that guides small-business owners through the steps to success. Their Web site attracts more than 250,000 visitors a month and their syndicated radio program is broadcast in 80 national markets. They are also authors of the book ``Startup Nation: Open for Business.''

The half-day conference is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon in the performing arts center A performing arts center, often abbreviated PAC, is a multi-use performance space that can be adapted for use by various types of the performing arts, including dance, music and theatre.  on the Rockwell Avenue campus.

Also featured will be Lina Ramos, president of San Diego-based Emerging Growth Enterprises, who will discuss strategies for business expansion and acquiring venture capital to take new companies to the next level.
